Canal Shop

The shop was started when we first moved here in 1986. It is seasonal, usually opening from mid March until mid November coinciding with the main boating period (10.30 to 5pm, closed Fridays). We stock maps & guides, gifts & souvenirs, some of which are only available from us. Ice creams, hot & cold drinks and homemade cakes can be taken away or consumed in the small seating area in front of the shop. The shop is very dog friendly for well behaved dogs on leads. There is usually a range of plants for sale, and a selection of original paintings of local canal scenes painted by a local artist. From 2022 there is also a range of stone ornaments. Homemade bird tables are also usually available. For boaters wishing to visit the shop, it is best to moor in the longer pound between locks 14 and 15, rather than try and moor outside the shop or on the short stretch of towpath opposite the shop.
